Liskeard, an ancient Stannary town, is now the Administrative centre for the District of Caradon and is situated on one of the two main east/west routes into Cornwall, the A38

A Stannary town was the location of an office to check the quality of tin mined in the local area. Like a silver hallmark, tin was “stamped” as proof of its high quality.

With easy access to Plymouth, the ferries to France and Spain are just minutes away, whilst the beauty of Bodmin Moor awaits those who prefer the solitude of wild Cornish landscapes.

The Cornish coastline provides everything for those who seek water based leisure activities, sailing, fishing, diving and of course surfing and wind-surfing.

Employment in the region is mixed and varied, the main towns all have growing and thriving industrial estates attracting a wide variety of industries and employment opportunities.

Many town centres throughout the region are undergoing major re-development and of course the farming communities continue to provide high quality produce for both local and national consumption.
